Theme of International Day of Older Persons 2020
“Pandemics: Do They Change How We Address Age and Ageing?”
This is the theme of International Older Persons Day by the United Nations(UN) for the current year 2020.
This theme makes us cautious about older persons in the context of Pandemic Covid 19. This Pandemic has revealed and changed the living styles of people across the world. Particularly, old citizens became more victims of this Pandemic and needed more care from their families and society. This situation alarmed us to set healthy standards about old persons in future.
“The Journey to age equality”
This was the theme for The International Day of Older Persons for the previous year 2019.
The International Day of Older Persons provides us an opportunity to admit the contribution of older persons in society and issues regarding their respect, health and value.
