World Children’s Day 2025

Children's Day
World Children’s Day 2024 is on Thursday, 20 November 2025. Children’s Day is an international observance and not a public holiday. All the UN member countries celebrate Childrens’ Day according to their specified dates.
Children’s Day is a fun day with a serious message. International Children’s Day offers us an opportunity to promote and celebrate children’s rights that will build a better world for them.

Theme of World Children’s Day 2025

The theme for International children’s day is, “Inclusion, for every child”. This theme means that every child belonging to any society, community or nationality is entitled to equal rights. It also emphasizes on the eradication of discrimination among children of various civilizations. Not only the general rights, but a global society welcomes and offers space to children of all types of skin tones.

Another vital perspective of the theme is to take a step forward by making a peaceful world that should be more inclusive for our children and it will repel every prejudice. As any biasness is injurious to the harmony of society, it may also put vulnerable effects to the psychology of a child whom a community deems unacceptable or a misfit. Hence, the gravity of any human or natural calamities like wars or Pandemics, should not make our children suffer and we collectively will include the children of all territories in our support or rescue mission.

Both the society and children grow together, and a prosperous society depends on the bright future of its inhabitant children. With the idea of inclusion, we have more chances to work collaboratively for the welfare of our kids. There are many societies where adult children and young people are struggling with equal rights and equity for adolescents. Our objective of integration is, therefore, aimed at encouraging their narrative and bringing all our children under the one flag of an inclusive world.

This theme urges the public to advocate, celebrate and promote children’s rights by including every child in a strive for a secure future.

The United Nations (UN) provides a particular theme every year for World Children’s Day to promote awareness among children, togetherness and improve children’s welfare.

In 1950, many countries started to celebrate June 1, as “Children Protection Day”
In 1954 United Nations established “Universal Children’s Day” with a date of 20th November yearly. The UN General Assembly prescribed all countries to come up with a day for children at a suitable date of their choice to promote awareness about children’s rights, togetherness and improve children’s welfare.
On November 20, 1959, United Nations General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child and on 20, November 1989 UN General Assembly adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

On the occasion of this special day, parents and teachers can follow the following steps for the well-being of these future builders.

  • Parents should take an active role in their child’s physical and mental well-being.
  • Educate and improve their discipline with a positive and encouraging attitude.
  • Parents’ positive contribution to a child’s learning is directly connected with improved abilities in their offspring.
  • Parenting communication style openly impacts the offspring’s overall performance; this results in strong development and continuous improvement of children.
  • Appreciate the ideas of your child and consider his feelings. This attitude makes your child relaxed and develops a strong relationship with him.
  • Spend time with your child regularly based on structured activities and events.
  • Enquire your child about his problems in education, resources or daily routine and try to solve those issues.
  • COVID-19 Pandemics have left long-lasting impressions on children’s minds. Online studies, staying at home and restrictions on outdoor physical activities have changed their behaviors. Now Post-Pandemic challenges include the improvement of children’s behaviors as well. Encouraging actions from parents and teachers can build healthier changes in their behaviors.
  • COVID-19 lockdowns affected the health of children and created physical fitness problems for them. Staying at home and the usage of fast, junk-food and lack of physical activities caused laziness and weight gain in them. Fitness experts in schools should take serious steps to overcome this challenge of children
